Mary -- I remember Dad telling me he took over Dr. Hartman's vet practice on First Street in 1954 when R.P. retired. Dad was hesitant about moving from Binghamton & Cornell areas to such a small town in the Middle of Somewhere.

Was a phone number assigned to an address then?

Doc Mitchell's little clinic was just a block from our house. I remember he was very patient and kind with the neighborhood kids who were curious about what he did there.
