ELEANOR A. JENKINS MARRIED TO BAILEY(sic) OVITT
Miss Eleanor A. Jenkins, daughter of Owen F. Jenkins of Shinglehoige, Pa., became the bride of John L. Ovitt, son of Bailey Ovitt of Winsted, Conn., in a ceremony performed Sunday afternoon, Sept. 4, in the First Church (Baptist and Congregational) by the Rev. Roderick McLeod, Congregational pastor.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned attractively in pink satin and carried white roses.
The maid of honor was Miss Mona Smith of Plainfield, Pa., and the best man was Harold Fleming of Winstead. The ushers were Robert ONeil and John DiLare, also of Winstead.
A reception followed the wedding at the home of the bridegroom, 35 guests attending.
The couple left on a wedding trip to Newport, R. I. The bride wore a gray gaberdine suit for traveling.
The bride is a graduate of Penn State Teachers College. She is an ensign in the Waves of' the U. S. Navy, stationed at the Newport Navy Base. The bridegroom attended the Gilbert school at Winstead, was in the Navy for four years, and is self-employed at the Ovitt Advertising Display Co.
The bridegroom is a grandson of Mrs. John H. Ovitt of Morrisville and the late John Ovitt, and has relatives and friends in this locality.
