The funeral of Henry G. Woodruff was held from his late home Monday, the Rev. Mr. Steele of Avon officiating. He died Saturday morning from heart failure and his death was a surprise to most of our citizens. Mr. Woodruff was the son of Sepio and Ann Fitch Reed of Almond, Allegany county, and was born in that town in 1836. His parents were among the very first settlers of the town of Livonia, coming here about 1797, and later removed to Almond. His mother was born in the town of Richmond. He was the oldest of ten children. In 1859 Mr. Woodruff went to the town of Richmond and resided there until 1861, when he removed to the town of Rush, which had been his home till two years ago, when he moved to Avon and last year to this village.
