Pvt. Thomas Smith, 314th Infantry, 79th Division, Roulette, PA KIA in France on October 6th, 1918.
The husband made the Supreme Sacrifice on the Battlefield of France, leaving his young wife and two months old baby that he has never seen.

As the world seems to be in chaos, let us take comfort knowing we are frightened, yet still able to share this feeling with someone we love. Now let us compare this to being thousands of miles away from the ones you love and dying with chaos all around you, never to see the eyes of your first born child, never to hold your new bride again. All for a cause much greater than yourself. A sacrifice that deserves to be remembered.

Pvt Thomas Smith was born in 1889 and was involved with WWI at a very early age. He was shipped off to France leaving behind a new bride, who was pregnant with his child.

Pvt Smith was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 314th Infantry, 79th Division.

The book published in 1922 titled "History of the Seventy-Ninth Division A.E.F. On October 6th, 1918, Pvt Smith was killed in action. He is buried in John Lyman Cemetary, Roulette, PA.
