Catherine P. Varca passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 13, 2022. Known for her wit, intellect, compassion, and an uncanny ability not to lose her New York City accent even after 30+ years in Ohio, she was respected and beloved by many.

Cathy spent almost a half-century involved in the educational enterprise, first as a teacher at academic levels ranging from grammar school to community college.

She also worked as managing editor for two large publishing firms, overseeing the publication of middle-school textbooks. Not surprisingly, she was an excellent writer along with being an avid reader. Beyond this, her passions were people and serving them as best she could.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, Anna Agnes and Philip.
