Mrs. Susan Lanphear, relict. of the late Dea. Nathan Lanphear, of Andover, N. Y., departed this life Oct. 15, 1883, aged 72 years and 1 day.
She went to her daughter's home in Belmont some time last Winter, where she was taken ill, and was not able to return to her own home. She bore disease with remarkable patience and Christian fortitude to the end.
The disease was finally pronounced cancer of the stomach.
All that affection of children and skill of physicians could do was done, but she bade them adieu, and passed away in the triumphs of faith. In her death, the Church of Andover and her children have sustained a great loss, but to her her departure is great gain.
