William F. Hamilton
came to Pennsylvania to work for an older brother, James Hamilton, who was forman in a lumber camp. After serving his apprenticeship in the lumber woods of the Black Forest, he entered the em-

ploy of Charles Rexford at Gaines and for many years worked in the hotel at that plae and drove the stage from Gaines to Wellsboro.
1885 shortly after the Galeton tannery was built, he came to then Pike Mills, employed at the Ansley House.
1887 married Edith L. Tice, eldest daughter of Henry M. Tice, resided in Galeton for past 47 years.
Three children:
One son, Loren and a daughter, Helen, prededing their father in death.
Early 90's engaged by Postmaster R.L. Clark as assistant postmaster, continuing under Postmaster H.M. Northam, then appointed postmaster until appointment of F.V. Balch.
Served Galeton as Constable, Justice of the Peace and Burgess and in 1915 was appointed to the office of State Game Protetor, until he retired on account of ill health in October, 1931.
Survived by his wife and one son, Frederick E.
2 grandchildren, Coudersport,
one brother, Frank, of Mansfield.
Interment- West Hill Cemetery.
Charles Edgar Freeman
eldest son of John E. and Emma Roberts Freeman, passed away very suddenly at his home in Belvidere, NY. He was born in Sweden Township February 11, 1873 and grew to manhood on the farm home near Sweden Valley. As carpenter, rig builder and farmer, the most of his life was spent in Potter and McKean counties. In 1928 he moved to Belvidere, where he worked as night watchman for Prindle & Seger.
Mr Freeman was united in marriage in 1923 to Ella Dice, who survives. He is also survived by his aged father and stepmother,
one sister, Grace Yentzer of Roulette;
and the following brothers:
Arch, of Friendship, NY,
Otto and Milo, of Coudersport,
six nieces and six nephews...
The funeral was held at the Park M.E. Church at Coudersport, Monday afternoon, with Rev. A.M. Dietterich officiating, and the body was place in the Eulalia vault.
FORMER RESIDENT DIES
William Chilson died Friday, December 16, 1932 at the age of 57 years. He was born at Weister, Pa and spent most of his life at Renovo, and worked as a ralroader until two years ago when he took up farming near Coudersport, where he continued to reside until his death. He was married to Miss Cora Spangler in 1899. He is survived by two daughters
Mrs Eva Knechtel of Coudersport and
Miss Florence Chilson of Buffalo, NY;
two sisters,
Mrs Cora Husseman of Kane, Pa and
Mrs Mabel Hackett of Emporium, Pa;
two brothers,
Ralph Chilson of Renovo, Pa and
Lawrencce Chilson, Coudersport.
