Tom Harris Dies
Nonogenarian Passes Away In Local Hospital.
W. Thomas Harris, but known to evrybody as Tom Harris, died Sunday (Dec. 20, 1964) at the Potter Cty. Memorial Hospital. He was admitted there Nov. 26 when he became ill. He had resided alone for 'ne' years at his home at 603 North West Street.
Deceased was born Jan. 21. 1873, the son of Miles C. and Anna Abson Harris in Sweden Township. He married Minnie Tauscher and after her death he married Mary Alice Tauscher(?), deceased.
In his early days Tom Harris was cheese maker but became a farmer. He retired several years ago. He was a member of Park Methodist Church.
Survivors are
- a son Miles Harris, Lewisburg, Pa.,
- a granddaughter, Mrs Caroline (Jack) Carlson, Port Allegany and
- a great granddaugher and
- half-sister, Mrs. Dorothy (Carl?) Elliott, Coudersport.
Funeral service is being held today (Wednesday) at 2:00 o'clock in the Grabe Funeral Home with Rev. LaRue G. Bender officiating.
Interment will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery.

Edwin D. Schott Sr.
Well-Known County Educator Succumbs, Ill Several Years.
Edwin Dilts Schott Sr., well-known resident of Galeton. suc-umbed Monday afternoon in the Veterans Hospital, Buffalo. N. Y.. where he had been a patient for 13 ys. He had been in ill health for several years.
Mr. Schott was born May 14, 1895, Sabinsville, the son of Edwin B. and Flora Gill Schott. He was married July 26. 1923 in the Union church at James City to the former Victoria Cannon who survives. He served the teaching profession for 43 years having received his B. S. degree from Mansfield State College and his masters degree from Bucknell University. He was supervising principal of Galeton schools from 1937 until the time of his retirement in 1959.
Mr. Schott was a past master of he Sharon F. & A.M. Lodge. Shinglehouse. He was also a member of the Coudersport Consistory; a past commander of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post and a nember of American Legion Post no. 291. Galeton: the VFW Galeton Post No. 6611. and a former member of the PSEA and NEA. He attended the Galeton First Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons.
- Dr. Edwin D. Schott, Coudersport;
- Frederick Schott, S. San Francisco, Calif.; and
- James Schott. Galeton;
- one sister, Mrs. Ellen Wilson, Sabinsville, and nine grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Collins Funeral Home, Galeton, starting this afternoon. A funeral service will be held from there at 2:00 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Allen Cropf, pastor of First Methodist Church, Galeton, officiating.
Burial will be made in West Hill Cemetery.
The Lindhome Funeral Home of Coudersport and the Collins Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

Rlomaine Weaver
Lifelong Coudersport Resident Dies Unexpectedly Sunday.
Romaine Weaver, 59, died unexpectedly at 6:30 p.m., Sunday in Potter County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He had been in ill health for some time.
Born at Sweden Hill May 6, 1905, he was a son of Benjamin and Pearl Furman Weaver. He had lived his entire life in this area and was employed on construction work by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Brookland, a member of the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department and the Port Allegany Moose Club.
Survivors include his parents. Mr. and Mis. Benjamin Weaver of Coudersport, and
- one sister, Miss Marjorie Weaver, also of Coudersport;
- one nephew, Robert Toombs;
and several aunts and uncles.
Friends were received at the Lindhome Funeral Home from where a funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. today with the Rev. Strathmore Kilkenny, vicar of Christ Episcopal Church, Coudersport, and All Saints Church officiating.
Interment was made in Eulalia Cemetery.

Mary E. McKervey
Funeral Held Thursday For Native Of Roulette.
Mrs. Mary E. McKervey, native of Roulette, died Monday, Dec. 14, following a cerebral hemorrhage.
Born Oct. 4. 1884, she was a daughter of John M. and Ellen Causer Babcock, pioneers of Burtville. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Burtville which was destroyed by fire several years ago. She was married to Elijah C. McKervey Nov. 21, 1904.
She is survived by her husband,
two sons,
- Jonn Keith and
- Everett Nell McKervey;
- one brother, Chester Babcock. Port Allegany;
ten grandchildren and 13 great, grandchildren.
One daughter, Mrs. Guy (Lila)Burt, preceded her in death in 1952.
Funeral services were held from the Walter Funeral Home, Port Allegany, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Carlson, retired EUB minister, officiating.
Burial was in Card Creek Cemetery.
Philip and John McKervey, William, Fred, Herbert and Guy Burr Jr., all grandsons of the deceased, were pallbearers.

The practice of presenting a Bible to each apprentice serving members of London's "Worshipful Company of Stationers" was started in 1712 and continued for many years.
