Air Force Sgt. David A. Washburn, 28, was killed in a motor accident in Vietnam on Sunday, June 2, 1968.
His parents, Hervey Jr. and Catherine Jane Bell Washburn, of RD 1, Guys Mills, received word of their son's death on Monday. A 1965 graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School, he entered the Air Force in August 1965 and was assigned to Lackland Air Force Base, Tex., for basic training. Further assignments were at Little Rock AFB, Ark., and to Thailand for a year before leaving for Vietnam in January.
He was a member of Bolivar Drive Baptist Church at Bradford.
He is survived in addition to his parents, by
two sisters,
- Linda of Stockton, Calif., and
- Marilyn at home;
two brothers,
- Joseph and
- John, both at home,
- his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hervey Washburn Sr. of RD 2 Guys Mills;
