MRS. ARILLA TOLES
Mrs. Arilla Toles, widow of the late George Toles, passed away at her home on South Main street, Monday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock, after being ill only one day. Her husband preceded her in death two years ago. She was the last one of the older residents of Earle Hollow.
Mrs. Toles was born in Sweden Valley, August 23, 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duell, pioneer residents of Sweden Valley.
She was united in marriage to George Toles, May 2, 1876, and to this union nine children were born, five of whom survive,
one son, Fred Toles, of Coudersport, and
four daughters,
- Mrs. Leatha Guenther, of Coudersport,
- Mrs. George Heath,
- Mrs. Lula Cook, of Morganza, Pa., and
- Mrs. Myrtle Beach, of Brookfield, Ohio;
also seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Toles was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist church, of this place.
The funeral will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at the S. Day Adventist church at 2 o'clock, with Elder Belote officiating and
- burial will take place on Sweden Hill.

HOSPITAL NEWS
Isaac Stuckey of Keating Summit, was admitted last Thursday for surgical treatment. He underwent an appendix operation and is recovering nicely.
Mrs. Florence Gaylord was admitted Friday for medical attention. Her condition is serious.
Onnalee Freeman was admitted Friday for dressing of an injured hand, but returned home the same day.
Wesley Robinson, of Norwood, Pa., who is employed in the Moore's Run forestry camp, was admitted at 2 a. m. Saturday morning for treatment of injuries received in a motor accident. He is improving.
Anthony Costello of W. Philadelphia, employed at Conrad, was admitted Monday for treatment of an infected hand. He was able to return to camp yesterday, where he is under the care of the camp doctor.
Mrs. E. C. Kanally of Port Allegany was admitted Monday for surgery. Her condition is favorable.
A son weighing about six pounds was born Tuesday to Mrs. Emma Nicklaus of Roulette. Mother and baby are doing nicely.
Fred Goodnoe of Burtville was re-admitted yesterday for further treatment.
Twelve-year-old Woodrow Lentz of Austin was admitted yesterday, suffering from a broken shoulder, which he received when he fell off a roof.
The dismissals this week were:
Maybelle Corwin of Austin, who has been recovering from a broken leg, and
little Erwin Goodwin, also of Austin, who had been badly burned;
Irene Dickinson, Mrs. Gladys Jones and Mrs. Naomi White, all of Emporium.
COUNTY CONFERENCE CALLED In order that all persons and organizations interested in temperance and the preservation of our Sabbath may unite in opposition to those favoring repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment and the Sunday Sport Bill, a county conference of all interested persons is called for Friday, June 16th, at the Park Methodist Episcopal Church, Coudersport. There will be an afternoon session beginning at 2:30 for transaction of business and an address by Mrs. Lida Briggs of Mills. The evening will be featured by a men's chorus and an address by Rev. Theodore Beck of Williamsport, who is a member of the state committee of nine for the Prohibition Emergency Conference. This is a call to arms. Let even the smallest community be represented at this conference.
