James Akeley Takes Job With Boy Scouts
Field Executive to Assist Scout Executive D. D. Blanchard Began Duties Monday To Reside At Smethport or Port Allegany
James T. Akeley, son of Mr and Mrs. A. P. Akeley of Coudersport, but for a time residing at Galeton, has been employed as Scout executive for the council. This information has just been given out by Walter Jones, president of Elk Lick
JAMES T. AKELEY
Council. Mr. Akeley began his duties Monday. He will move with his wife and little daughter to either Port Allegany or Smethport to be nearer the center of the coun cil territory.
This fine young man served in World War II a a pilot and first lieutenant the Air Corps. He attended Lock Haven State Teachers College, Augustana College, Rock Island, 111., and Ithaca Conservatory of Music.
In college Mr. Akeley was active in the Dramatics Club, Athletic Club, and president of the Naturalist Club..
