Doris K. Eley, 95, of Smethport, PA

Doris K. Eley, 95, of Smethport, PA, died Sunday (July 20, 2014) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport.

She was born January 4, 1919 in Betula, a daughter of Charles and Anna Buck Keenan.
On October 11, 1941, in Smethport, PA, she married George B. Eley, who died March 28, 1981.

Mrs. Eley was a graduate of Smethport High School and attended secretarial school at Jamestown Business College in Jamestown, NY.

She was employed as a secretary/clerk at the Quaker State Oil Refinery in Farmers Valley.

She was a member of Coleville Christian Gospel Church of Farmers Valley, where she was also secretary for many years.

She is survived by:
two daughters:
- Katherine A. (Raymond) Snyder of Smethport and
- Barbara J. Bartholomew of Duke Center
one son:
- Thomas G. (Debra) Eley of Smethport
6 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by
- a brother, Robert Keenan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. Funeral and committal services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 24, at 11 A.M., with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
- Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
