Life-Long Resident Dies After Protracted Illness
Charles Gross, resident of Myrtle, Pa., passed away on December 31, 1947, after an Illness of long duration.
Mr. Gross was born in Ceres, Pa., December 10, 1869, and had been a lifetime resident of Ceres Township. He was married to Miss Carey Kilmer, July 4, 1893, at Portville, N. Y. He was a retired farmer.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children,
- Mrs. Ona Bridges
- Mrs. Pauline Walters.
- Orville and
- George Gross, all of Shinglehouse,
Ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Three brothers:
- Ernest Gross, Roulette;
- Forest Gross, Cattaraugus, N. Y.;
- Edward Gross, Ellicottville, N. Y.,
and one sister,
- Mrs Cora McNeal, Turtle Point.
One son, Orin Gross, passed away in Shinglehouse Jan. 23, 1947.
Funeral services were held at the late home Saturday at 1:30 p. m. with the Rev. Don L. Moody, pastor of the Methodist Church in Shin glehouse officiating. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
