The death of Mrs. Herman K. Sonnekalb occurred Friday evening, at the Coudersport Hospital. She had been in ill health for some time past and had heen a patient at the hospital since January 4.
Maratha Mina Richter was born in Annaberg, Germany, October 16, 1869, and came to America when a young girl. In 1887, she was united in marriage to Herman Sonnekalb, of Coudersport and had since made this her home. Surviving besides her husband, are five children: Otto, of Troy, N. Y.; Clara, Mrs. Harold C. Holley, Schenectady, N. Y.; William, Faulkner, N. Y.; Helen, Mrs. Roy E. Keister, Galeton; and Lucille, Mrs. Leon R. Brocklebank, Coudersport; also eight grandchildren. Another son, Harold W. Sonnekalb passed away in November, 1924. Funeral services were held at the home, on Vine street, Sunday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Chester S. Bird, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating.
John and Edward Beckman, Milford Murphy, George Froebel, Arch K. Baker and Emil Knechtel, Jr., acted as pall-bearers.
Interment was made in Eulalia Cemetery..
