Frank's family name was actually 'Allis', as were his ancestors' and his son Robert's, but with the next generation, it seems 'Allis' morphed into 'Ellis'. Does anybody know more about this?

The Enterprise is pleased to present this week a group picture of four generations of the well known Ellis family. At the lower right is
- Frank M. Ellis of Ellisburg, who is 81 years of age. Above, at the left, is
- Robert H. Ellis, a son of Frank M., who also resides at Ellisburg.
Standing at rear is a grandson,
- Fred A. Ellis, of Whitesville, and the little lad is
- the two and one-half years old son of Fred, the great grandson of Octogenarian Frank M.
