A Quiet Ceremony Marks Marriage of Shirley Roche to James Walaski In Church.
In a simple, impressive ceremony witnessed only by members of the immediate families, Miss Shirley Ann Roche, daughter of Mrs. Florence Roche, and James T. Walaski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walaski, all of Coudersport, recited their marriage vows last Friday evening in St. Eulalia Church.
The Rev. Arthur Leon officiated for the double ring ceremony. Mrs. John Gordnier, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. Mrs. Gordnier wore a white waltz length dress with blue shoes and small blue hat. Her shoulder corsage was of pink rosebuds.
The bride was attired in a ballerina length frock of azure blue taffeta which featured an overskirt of whit embroidered tulle. A small White hat with veil completed her costume. Her corsage was of red rosebuds.
James Taylor, brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for members of the wedding party and the two families was held at the home of the bride's mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Walaski returned to Coudersport early this week from a brief honeymoon trip to Atlantic City, and are making their home at the Colonial apartments on North Main St. The bride is a graduate of Coudersport High School, and for the past two years has been receptionist and announcer for radio station WFRM.
Mr. Walaski, also a graduate of Coudersoprt High School, served for one year in the Coast Guard, and attended Lock Haven State Teachers College, He is presently employed by the Tennessee Gas Transmission Co.
