Death of an Old Resident.
The Eldred Eagle of last week says: Mrs. Nancy Moody died at the home of Rev. W. Miller in Turtle Point, last Monday, aged 84 years. The funeral was held from the church at Coryville Thursday afternoon, and was conducted by Elder Leach, of Hinsdale, NY. Mrs. Moody moved from Broome County, NY with her husband Nehemiah Moody to McKean county about 35 years ago, and has since lived in this vicinity, her husband dying about 18 years ago. She was in usual health till 2 o'clock when she was taken with a pain near the heart, but did not suffer. At 7 o'clock death claimed her and peacefully ended a busy and useful career. She was the mother of 16 children, 9 of whom are now living, as are also 140 of her descendants. Her remains were interred in the family burying ground at Moody Hollow. Deceased was a member of the M.E. church for 40 years and lived and died a strong believer in that faith. She was a noble woman, beloved by all.
