Hebron Center Resident Dies In Allentown, N. Y.
Amos Sturdevant of Coudersport, R.D. 1, Hebron Center, succumbed at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 1967. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louise Lawton, Allentown, N. Y., where he has resided during the past three years of his illness.
Mr. Sturdevant was born at Troy, Pa., July 23, 1880, the son of Amos C. and Liis Rockwell Sturdevant. He was married July 5, 1907, to Nellie Cornelius at Ceres, N. Y. He was self-employed as a farmer and spent most of his life on a farm at Hebron Center. Mr. Sturdevant was a member of the South Branch Grange.
Surviving are his wife and three sons,
Otto Sturdevant, Oswayo,
Wayne Sturdevant, Turtlepoint, R.D. 2, and
Gary Sturdevant, Coudersport, R.D. 1;
two daughters,
Mrs. Harry (Lois) Eck, Coudersport, R.D. 1 and
Mrs. Mayfred (Louise) Lawton, Bolivar, R.D. 1, N.Y. (Allentown, N.Y.);
two brothers,
Merton Sturdevant, Olean, N. Y. and
Harry Sturdevant, Wayland, N. Y.
one sister, Mrs. Lottie Stonemetz, Shinglehouse,
15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The Rev. Harold West officiated at the funeral service in the Grabe- Fickinger Funeral Home, Coudersport, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Burial followed in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Gary and Don Sturdevant, Earl and Milan Bailey and Jerry and Leroy Lawton..
