Samuel "'Big Sam' or 'Squirrel Huntin Sam'" McCoy Birth: 1855 Pike County, Kentucky, USA Death: Apr. 18, 1941 Saint Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA Sam McCoy is the brother of Paris McCoy and they were both involved in the Hatfield-McCoy feud. Big Sam shot and killed Bill Staton after Bill shot Paris. Sam is known for killing 38,000 squirrels with one riffle and 40,000 with another. He married America Goff and had one child with her. His second wife was Vandora McCoy, his second cousin once removed, and had ten children with her.
