Ellison Mounts
fiplady added this on 25 Jun 2010 mcmillen1961originally submitted this to McMillions (McMillens) - Virginia To Illinois on 21 Oct 2009 Ellison Mounts was reputedly the illegitimate son of Ellison Hatfield and was said to be somewhat "slow" or "dimwitted." He was persuaded to accompany Cap, Johnse, and the other Hatfield supporters when they burned the McCoy home on New Years Day in 1888. Although Sarah McCoy insisted that Cap Hatfield shot her daughter Alifair, it was Ellison Mounts who was convicted of that crime. He was the only Hatfield prisoner to be hanged. All the others received prison sentences.
