Canada Bill Monroe ancestor story

Canada Bill Monroe married into either the Sherman or Lewis or Coats side of the family or perhaps Monroe was a family name way back when. I think her name was Lisa (Lucy?) and they were in Canada during the French-Indian Wars. It was that connection that Grandma always said linked us to Abraham Lincoln. It was told they hid in wine casks when the solders came and when they shot at random she was hit in the chin and never uttered a sound. I have a picture of her and something surely altered her chin. It could be fact or folklore but it makes a great story. I can't wait to send you pictures of these characters.
Eliza was supposedly a cousin of Abe.
