Miss Emily Spring, Sidney Edward Wedded
Vows of a double ring ceremony repeated in picturesque Little Church on the Prairie joined Miss. Emily Spring and Sidney Edward Smith in marriage Saturday evening. One hundred and fifty close friends and family members gathered for the ceremony read by the Rev. Frank Haley in which the bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Spring, was given in marriage by her father. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. N. F. Richardson and Plese Smith, both of Tacoma.
White and I salmon pink gladiolus in tall baskets interspersed with green palms stood about the altar which was lighted by four candelabra. The bride's wedding gown was of white satin made with princess lines and her veil was fingertip , length caught to a coronet of pearls. She carried a bouquet of orchids, roses and swansonia. Miss Edith Ploeger was maid of honor for her cousin, wearing a rose taffeta frock with a colonial bouquet of roses. Other bridesmaids were Misses Doris Sommer, Charlotte Kane, Dorothy Pirie and Nancy Nelson. All were frocked in blue with contrasting flowers.
Attending Mr. Smith were liam Glover, best man and ushers, Harold Tucker, Allen Young. Robert Spring and Stanley Sharpe. Candles in the front of the church were lighted by Mrs. Robert Spring and Mrs. Stanley Sharpe.
Accompanying Arthur Wickens, who sang "Because" and "At Dawning", was Mrs. Maurice Owens at the organ. For her daughter's wedding, a Mrs. Spring wore a gown of wine lace and Mrs. Richardson, mother of the bridegroom, wore blue, both with corsages of roses and gardenias.
The home of the bride's parents on South D street was the scene for the reception honoring the newlyweds. Assisting through rooms appointed with blue and white were Mrs. F. E. Ploeger, the bride, and Mrs. asters, Arthur Remington, great aunt of the bridegroom. Others were ThursMisses Mary Lou Ponton, Shirley Anita Sher- Hone, Janet Sommer, man and Mrs. H. L. Wallenmeyer.
For her wedding trip the bride wore a brown wool suit with blue.
