Florence R. Perry
Florence R. Perry, 93, formerly of Pinnacle Towers, Wellsboro, PA, died on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Broad Acres.
She was the wife of Theodore F. Perry, who preceded her in death April 15, 1971.
Florence was born December 26, 1921 in Pitcairn, PA, the daughter of the late James E. and Ella R. (Platt) Simpson.
In her lifetime Florence was a sales clerk at Western Auto. She also was a CNA, having worked at Susque View Nursing Home in Jersey Shore, PA. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Florence was a member of Welsh Settlement Church of Christ. She was a volunteer at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Green Free Library and The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center.
Surviving are
- her three daughters,
- Dixie L. McCarthy (Robert), Wellsboro;
- Dr. Patsy A. Perry, Tempe, AZ;
- Karen R. Gates (Robert), Bellefonte, PA;
- three sons,
- James A. Perry (Osoon), Seoul, Korea;
- Robert R. Perry (Connie), Bellefonte, PA;
- Theodore C. Perry (Esther), Wellsboro, PA;
15 grandchildren;
31 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
Florence was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by
- her brother, Clifford Albert Simpson;
- 2 sisters, Ella Catherine Jones and
Georgia Elizabeth Hickey;
- 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Jay Perry and
Diedra Perry.
Friends and family are invited to Florence’s Life Celebration on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 3-6 PM at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home”, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro. Funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM with the Rev. James Traux and Rev. Tink Cranmer officiating.
