Marion H. Metcalf
Marion H. Metcalf, 68, of Ulysses, died unexpectedly Monday (Nov. 15, 1971) of an apparent heart attack.
Born Oct. 20, 1903 in Harrison Valley, he was a son of Frank and Bertha Houghtaling Metcalf.
He was married at Scio N.Y., on Oct. 8, 1928 to the former Ruth Thompson, who survies.
Mr. Metcalf was a retired employee of the Ulysses Agway and a member of the Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by
- one son, Llewellyn Metcalf, Coudersport;
two daughters,
- Mrs. Clifford (Janice) Hanes, Ulysses, and
- Mrs. Elwood (Geraldine) Weeks, Galeton;
12 grandchildren, one great grandchild and six step-grandchildren;
three sisters,
- Mrs. Jennie Hannah, Cambridge, Md.,
- Mrs. Orville Cobleigh, Endicott, N.Y., and
- Mrs. Percy Martin, New Hampton,' N.Y.;
- and a brother, Melvin Metcalf, Buffalo, N.Y.
Friends will be received at the Koch Funeral Home, Ulysses, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. today and on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00p.m. Funeral service will be held there Friday at 1:00 p.m. with -
- the Rev. Basil Houghtaling of West Bingham Community Church and the Rev. Leslie Thomas of Ulysses Free Methodist Church officiating.
- Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Miss Rose Marie Taylor spent the week-end at Findley Lake Bible Conference.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown of Harrison Valley spent the week-end with her son, Leon Bailey.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Swift, Leon Bailey and son David attended the wedding of Ramona Swift and Llewellyn Metcalf at Ulysses, Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Press of Salamanca were week-end guests of his mother, Mrs. Nina Press.
Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Lawton were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown at Harrison Valley, Thursday.

Wade Clutter spent the week-end with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dingman. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Prosser of Farmers Valley came for him Friday night.

The marriage of Miss Edra Roberts, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Roberts, Wellsville, formerly of Olean and the late Fred Roberts to Dorr Allis, Coudersport, was solemnized Tuesday, July 3, 1951. The ceremony was performed at the People's Methodist Church in Olean by the Rev. Robert O. Smith. The bride selected a navy blue suit with white accessories. Her corsage was of red roses and babies' breath. Mrs. John Corcoran, matron of honor, chose a pink and white ensemble with a corsage of pink roses and babies breath. The couple will reside in Coudersport.

A car owned by Henry Sitter Jr., Coudersport, was struck by a truck while parked on North First Street in Olean, last Thursday, according to a report made to Olean police.
