Kibbe, 24, stationed in Vietnam, was made known to his father, Grayle Kibbe of Main St., Austin, Monday evening by telegram. SSgt. Kibbe was killed by lightning while working on a dynamo. He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene Carlisle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carlisle Clay City, Kans., and two children - George C. and - Teresa A. - His mother also survives and lives at Fulton, N. Y., and - his brother is a member of the U. S. Navy. Present plans are to bring the remains to the Ft. Riley Military Cemetery, near Clay City, Kans., for burial. SSG Gerrith Lowell Kibbe, Roulette PA. Died in Vietnam June 24th, 1967

We owe so much to our Vietnam Veterans and they never got the respect they deserved coming home. Let us show respect my remembering one of our own boys who never made it back.

Gerrith Lowell Kibbe was born on January 22, 1943 in Roulette, PA.
He had enlisted in the Army. Entered via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on November 23, 1966. He had the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Kibbe experienced a traumatic event which resulted in loss of life on June 24th 1967. Recorded circumstances attributed to "Died through non-hostile action" Incident location: South Vietnam, Bien Hoa Province.

Gerrith is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC.
Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 22e, Line 58.

Son Of Austin Man Is Killed In Vietnam The death of Garreth L. Kibbe, i zi, stationed in Vietnam, was made known to his father, Grayle Kibbe of Main St., Austin, Monday evening by telegram. SSgt. Kibbe was killed by lightning while working on a dynamo. He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene Carlisle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carlisle Clay City, Kans., and two children George C. and Teresa A. His mother also survives and lives at Fulton, N. Y., and his brother is a member of the U. S. Navy. Present plans are to bring the remains to the Ft. Riley Military Cemetery, near Clay City, Kans., for burial.
