Fordyce Allen 'Al' Reese, Jr.
Fordyce Allen 'Al' Reese, Jr., age 44, of Coudersport, PA passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Allen was born on March 9, 1973 in Coudersport, the youngest child of Fordyce 'Al' and Rosemarie Grietl Reese, Sr.
He shared his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers and both he and his father were avid fans, and was a supporter of Matt Kenseth in NASCAR circles.
He enjoyed fishing, working with model trains, and roller skating. He was an accomplished Christmas light decorator.
Allen was a graduate of Coudersport Area High School. Allen was employed by Adelphia Communications, Wending Creek Farms, Magic Valley Skateland, Seal's Pro Hardware, and a founding member of Reesecreations, where his vision, artistry, and creativity were a tremendous asset to the family business.
He was an accomplished woodworker, and created many beautiful items for his family.
He was a life member of the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 18 years as a firefighter, rescue squad member, executive committee member, and participated in fundraising, building and grounds, equipment and apparatus, and numerous other activities, especially flipping chickens. He was voted Firefighter of the Year by his peers in 1996, 2000, and 2001, and Rescue Squad Member of the Year in 2012.
Allen was survived by
- his mother, Rosemarie Reese, of Coudersport, PA,
- his lifelong love, Angela Reese,
his children
- Alyssa and
- Ayden Reese, who he loved and adored,
brothers
- Erhard (Wanda Long) Reese, of Ulysses, PA and
- David (Susan) Reese of Coudersport, Pa,
sisters
- Rose (Donnie) Wilson, of New Park, PA,
- Loretta Battaglia (late Frank), of Spring Hill, Florida,
- Ellen (Larry) Goodwin, of Coudersport, PA and
- Marie (Donny) Arrowood, of Coudersport, PA,
15 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and
two brother-in-laws,
- Frank Battaglia and
- Ken Ruby.
Friends and family are invited to Allen's Life Celebration Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home, 210 North East Street, Coudersport, PA with a visitation from 12pm-2pm, funeral service to follow at 2pm, Pastor Scott Ogden officiating. Please feel free to wear your Steelers apparel.
- Burial will be in the Reesville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, 112 E. 2nd Street, Coudersport, PA 16915 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Two Potter County 4-H Members Take Best of Show Honors at PA Farm Show
Potter County 4-H had a great showing at the 2017 PA Farm Show with 38 4-H entries in the family living section with 24 of those items placing,
2 taking Best of Show honors.
Six members from two 4-H clubs submitted entries.
