Smith in Double Ring Church Ceremony Miss Donna Marie Kemp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Kemp, 56 Honeoye Street, became the bride of Larry Smith, son of Rev. and Mrs. Ray R. Smith, also of Shinglehuse, on Saturday, April 11, 1959, in the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Roy Black, pastor of the church and the Rev. Ray R. Smith, father of the bridegroom, performed the double ring ceremony. Candelabra, palms, white lilies, roses and snapdragons decorated the sanctu- ary. The pews were marked by white i satin bows centered with a lily. Tra- i ditional wedding music was provided by Mrs. Walter Palmer at the organ, with Miss Barbara Press singing, "O, Promise Me" "Walk Hand in Hand" and "The Wedding Prayer." The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bridegroom was attended by Charles Smith, his brother, as best man; serving as ushers were Paul Kemp Jr., Churchville, N. Y., both er of the bride, and Edward Walters, Shinglehouse. The bride wore a floor length gown of white taffeta and lace, styled with a long sleeve bodice and sabrina neckline appliqqued with irredescent sequins and a full skirt ending in a chapel train. Her pearl and sequin tiara supported her fingertip veil. She carried a white Bible with cascading roses. The bride's sister, Miss Diane Kemp, as maid of honor, appeared in a gown of Alpine , rose taffeta with matching chiffon cummerbund. ' ' ; ' Frigidaire Frederick Appliance Co. The full princess seamed skirt was attached to the bodice with an empire1 waist. The chiffon empire drape ended in back floating panels. Her naatching tiara with seed pearls and sequins featured a matching short veil. She wore long white gloves and 'carried a crescent arrangement of "white roses. Bridesmaids were' Miss Lucille Graves and Miss Thana Kibbe, a cousin of the bride They were dressed identically as the maid of honor. As flower girl, Mary Ellen Kemp, also a cousin of the bride, wore a dress of white nylon lace with a sash of white satin and matching bonnet. She carried a basket of pink and white rose .petals. The bride's mother selected a two piece dress of navy pure silk shang-tung with white accessories and wore a corsage of pink roses. ' The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy dress ensemble with navy and white accessories and a pink rose corsage.. . ' . . The ring bearer, Isaac Smith, brother of the bridegroom, wore a midnight blue tuxedo identical with the men in the wedding party. The candle boys, William Stavisky and Stephen Perkins, wearing choir robes, opened the ceremony with the lighting of the candles. A reception in the church parlors followed the ceremony after which the newlywed couple left for a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains. For her traveling costume, the bride chose a beige suit with pink and beige accessories accented by a pink corsage. The bride graduated from the Os-wayo Valley High School in 1956 and attended Edinboro State Teachers College one year, after which she held a position with John H. Eddy, DDS in Olean as a dental assistant. The bridegroom holds a position as manaeer for the Market Basket Store in Flanklinville, N. Y. He is a graduated of Oswayo Valley High School. Pre-nuptial events included a variety shower given by the Sunday School teachers of the First Methodist Church and a variety shower given by the Sunday School classes of Miss Carolyn Dinger and of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will re-Franklinville, N. Y. Firemen Get Plenty Of Alarms The Shinglehouse Fire Company has been called out several times during the past week. One fire was in a chimney at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith, Water St. Another at Millport, residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Donovan. This fire was confined to one room. The last one was a barn owned tiy William Norton on Honeoye St. The blaze was soon put out without too much damage. Mary Martha Class To Buy Folding Chairs The Mary Martha Class of , the Methodist Sunday School met at the home of Mrs. Helen Halleck, Tuesday evening, with 18 members present.
