Mrs. Harry Cane entertained her bridge club in her home, last Thursday evening.
A handkerchief shower was given for Mrs. H. B. Von Nieda, who will celebrate her birthday this month.

Ross Street Girl Has Birthday Party
Jeanne Ferguson, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. James Ferguson, celebrated her fourth birthday last Thursday by having a party at her home on Ross St.
The party was from 3:00 o'clock until 5:00. Refreshments were served from a table decorated in green and yellow.
Guests invited were:
Cherie Hau, Billy Austin, Vesta Goodenough, Barbara Mosch, Dennie Barnett, Bee Ann Sonnekalb, David Black, Tommy Shirey, Karen McQuown, Moree Jo Anderson, David Zimmerman, Dickie Martin and Sue Nell Gable.
Sfc. Donald Berglund to Go to Germany
Sfc. Donald Berglund and Mrs. Berglund and family have been visiting Mrs. Berglund's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Angood, and Sfc. Berglund's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Berglund, Austin, R. D, Sfc. Berglund had a 10-day delay en route from Camp Breckenridge, Ky., to Camp Kilmer, N. J. Sfc. Berglund left Monday for the New Jersey camp. He will leave shortly for service in Germany. Mrs. Berglund and the children will remain in Coudersport but expect to join Sfc. Berglund after the first of the year.

STATE OFFICER - Miss Andrea Bankert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolan F. Bankert, Sweden Valley, was appointed Pennsylvania Grand Representative at the 24th Pennsylvania Grand Assembly, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, held Aug. 11-14 at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her state appointment Friday morning and during ceremonies that night received her grand cross of color, an award for special service to her local assembly. She is a past wor-/ thy advisor of the Coudersport Assembly No. 139.
Mrs. Loren Vosburg, Coudersport, was also to receive the grand cross of color but was unable to attend. She will be able to get it in October at ceremonies in Brad-. ford. Mrs. William Beier and Mrs. Donald Gould served as chaperones for the 14 girls who attended the state assembly.
