Xavier Fleshutz Passes Away At His Home On Ross Street, Coudersport, Age of 76; Old Age

• OLD RESIDENT DEAD XAVIER FLESHUTZ PASSES AWAY AT HIS HOME ON ROSS STREET AT AGE OF SEVENTY-SIX
Monday afternoon at one thirty-five the spirit of Xavier Fleshutz left its earthly home for the great beyond. For the past two years the old gentleman has been very feeble and his death was the result of a general break down caused by his advanced years. Mr. Fleshutz was born in Kempten Buvaria, July 17th, 1833.
In 1857 at the age of twenty-four of Buvaria. Shortly after he married, Bobalbina Geigher, the wedding which took place in Paris he came with his bride to New York City where he landed some time during the fall of fifty-seven. After spending about a year in the city they moved to Egg Harbor near Atlantic City, where they lived until 1867 when they moved to Potter County, locating in Roulette. From there they moved to Elm Flats at the foot of Mina Hill in 1874 where they made their home until 1883, in which year Mr. Fleshutz moved his family to Coudersport to give them better school advantages. On July 31st his good wife died, leaving him with three children,
Mrs. Josephine Norton of Coudersport,
Mrs. Joseph Klesa of Sweden Valley and
Herman D. Fleshutz of Coudersport,
all of whom now survive him.
On January 26, 1901 he married Maggie Burton who since then has been his helpmate. Mr. Fleshutz was a shoemaker which trade he followed all his life with the exception of the few years spent at Elm Flats where he worked a farm. The funeral will be held Thursday atfernoon at 2 p. m. at the Episcopal church, Rev. D. E. S. Perry officiating.
Interment will be made in the Eulalia cemetery under the direction of, Schutt & Gillon..
