ROBERT LEHMAN
Robert Lehman, S. 2c, is the son of Mr and Mrs Harvey Lehman, RD1, Galeton. He is but 18 years of age. He had had three years of instruction in Galeton HS when he felt the urge to enlist in the Navy, October 20, 1943. He received boot training at Samson, NY and in December he was home on a brief furlough. His address now is:

Wounded Galeton men
Return to This Country
Two of Galeton's boys wounded in World War II have recently been returned to the USA. The are Sgt. John R. (Bob) Leach, USMC, wounded in the legs by a Jap grenade at Saipan, July 9, for which he was treated in a naval hospital overseas, was returned to California about two weeks ago. He expects to be sent to the naval hospital at Sampson, NY.
... Sgt Leach, better known as "Bob", was married to Miss Betty Tillotson of Washington, DC shortly before being sent overseas....
JOSEPH LEVENDUSKI
First, Pvt Joseph Levenduski, who was inducted from Galeton, April 24, 1943. He received basic training at Camp Pickett, Va and is now in advance training for overseas duty as a medical technician. He recently spent a brief furlough with his wife in Galeton. He is now at 100th General Hospital, Fort George Meade, Md.
