Alexander of Hazelhurst, Pa, was received here last week, and although this was not unexpected it brings sadness to many people of Genesee. For many years Mr. Alexander was closely connected with life of Genesee having conducted a general store in the building now occupied by G.F. Chapman and later was for several years station agent. He was a man who always stood for the besting life, and in social and religious life of the town was a real helper. For many years he was the superintendent of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday School of which he was a member. He was twice married, first to Miss Jones of Wellsville, who lived but a short time after marriage and later of Miss Nettie Ellis of Genesee who with her tow children Mary and William survive him. The funeral services were held at Hazelhurst, Wednesday and the the burial was at Wellsville Thursday. Mrs. Stella McCarn and Mrs. Ester Raymond went to Wellsville to be present at the burial.
