Clinton W. “Clint” Campbell, 94, of Galeton, PA, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA.
WWII Veteran
Born May 22, 1920 in Germania Station, PA, he was a son of the late Roy and Marie (Burrous) Campbell.
Clint was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. On August 17, 1968, in Galeton, he married the former Mary Pansero, who survives.
Clint and his brother, Twist, started Campbell Brothers Trucking and then he worked for the Wellsboro, Addison, Galeton Railroad, the Devling Brothers Hardware Store, Lush Bros. Consolidated Natural Gas, and County Line Enterprises.
Along with other medals and awards he received during WWII, Clint was presented the Chevalier Award in 2010. He was an avid supporter of Galeton Little League and was one of the men responsible for building the Little League field.
He was a member of St. Bibiana Catholic Church in Galeton, the Galeton VFW, and enjoyed mowing lawn, cutting firewood and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, are

- Thomas (Jill) Campbell, Galeton;
- two daughters, - Diane (Larry) Button and
- Betty Ann (Bill) Lechler, both of Galeton;
- a sister, - Joan (Richard) McInroy, Canisteo, NY;
- 6 grandchildren - Jeff Button,
- Rick Lechler,
- Kim Cole,
- Jaime Palmatier,
- Kamryn Campbell, and
- Hayes Campbell;
- eight great grandchildren,
- Mara and Lyndsey Rieppel,
- Marika Swetland,
- Lexi, and Braelyn Palmatier,
- Eve Cole, and
- Billy & Mitchel Lechler;
- sisters-in law, - Toni (Bill) Haner, Horseheads, NY,
- Francy DeStevens, Gaines, PA and
- Ginny Pansero, Horseheads, NY;
- and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clint was preceded in death by
- his first wife, Margaret Chase Campbell,
- a brother, Oliver “Twist” Campbell, and
- a brother-in-law, Carmen “Peanuts” DeStevens.
Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm and on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 10:00-11:00am at the St. Bibiana Catholic Church, Galeton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with
- the Rev. Joseph Dougherty as Celebrant.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.
Military Rites will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
