George Hershberger, retired farmer, died at his home in Martinsburg. at 7 a. m. yesterday of complications after an illness of four weeks. Mr. Hershberger was a son of Henry and Elizabeth Steele Hershberger and was born in Snake Spring Valley, January 3, 1851. He was a life long member of the Church of the Brethren. On December 25, 1873. he was married to Alice Boor. They moved to Martinsburg 18 years ago.
Surviving are three sons and five daughters:
D. C. Hershberger, Charter Oak, Iowa;
Mrs. H. S. Ober, Woodbury;
Mrs. C. A. Studebaker, Tippecanoe City, Ohio;
Dr. J. W. Hershberger,
C. A. Hershberger,
Mrs. G. B. Wineland and
Mrs. J. K. Archey, Martinsburg;
Mrs. C. B. Rhodes, Martinsburg, R. D. No. 1;
three brothers and three sisters;
the Rev. John S. Hershberger,
Daniel and
Anson Hershberger, and
Mrs. Jacob Baker, Everett:
Mrs. Albert Stayer, Roaring Spring; and
Mrs. G. L. Working, Altoona.
Funeral service will be held in the Martinsburg Church of the Brethren, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30.
Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Martinsburg..
